Three Prompts That Will Show You What Claude Already Knows About Your Business
Most people use Claude (or ChatGPT, or Gemini) like a search engine. Ask, get an answer, close the tab. Repeat tomorrow.
Here's the thing: if you've been talking to Claude for more than a few weeks, it has a record of every workflow you've struggled with, every tool you mentioned, every project you started and didn't finish. Most owners I work with have no idea how much of their business is sitting in there waiting to be pulled out.
Try this sequence the next time you open Claude. Three prompts. Run them in order. Don't paraphrase them — paste them as written, then read what comes back slowly.
1. Mirror — find out what Claude thinks you do
"Based on everything you know about me from our chats, write a short profile of me: what I do, who I serve, what I'm trying to build, and what tone I prefer in writing. Be specific. Quote me where you can."
This is the flinch moment. The first time most people run this, they're surprised by how accurate it is — and occasionally surprised by what's missing. If Claude doesn't mention your best service line, your bio is buried somewhere it can't see it. That's already useful information.
2. Map — surface the patterns you've stopped noticing
"Now look at the patterns. What 3 recurring workflows have I asked you to help with more than twice, what tools keep coming up, and where have I gotten stuck or given up? Be honest."
This one is uncomfortable in the best way. You'll see the same three things you keep wrestling with — the proposal you keep rewriting, the report you keep formatting, the social posts you keep starting and not finishing. They've been hiding in plain sight. Claude just put them in a list.
3. Move — turn one pattern into a system
"Pick the single workflow from that list that I'd benefit most from automating. Draft what a scheduled task version would look like — when it runs, what it does, what it sends me — so I can decide whether to set it up."
Now you have a concrete spec for one thing you could automate this week. Not a vague "use AI more." A specific recurring task with a trigger, an action, and a delivery format.
What to do with the answers
Most people read the output, nod, and close the tab. Don't.
- Save the profile from #1. Use it as the opening context every time you start a new project with Claude.
- Pick one workflow from #2. Just one. The one that costs you the most time per week.
- Take the draft from #3 and actually set it up — either as a scheduled task, an artifact, or a saved skill.
That's the whole game. Claude already saw the patterns. You just had to ask.
